Session One:Visit to IKP Genome valley by bus and observation of startup companies, detail
information was given by Dr.Viswanadham, IKP, Hyderabad.
Session Two:Detail visit was organized by Dr.Viswanadham, for visit and hands on training to
various sophisticated analytical Instrumentation facility housed at Genome Valley.

Detailed operational and functional behavior of the machine was taught by Technical team operating

Detailed operational and functional behavior of the HPLC Column and machine was taught by Technical

Session Three:Visit to Biotechnology Lab for Genome Preservation
Detailed visit of the facilities in the field of biotechnology was conducted in presence of
technical team of genome valley with Dr. Wiswanadham.
Facilities observed: Wash area, autoclave, safety shower, eye wash, cold room refrigerators,
Millipore water, PCR, fermenter, centrifuge, incubator shaker, polarimeter and other basic
equipments reuired in the field of biotechnology
Detailed application of the facility for Genetic modification of microorganisms for production of
useful therapeutic products were taught by technical team of biotechnology staff of genome valley

Session four:Take home message by Dr.Viswanadham:
Dr.Viswanadham, after detailed visit of genome valley facility addressed students regarding goals
and objectives of IKP Knowledge park, Hyderabad & how they are harmonizing government schemes in
collaboration with BIRAC and BIG to explode the field of Biotechnology Research from past decades.
He also encouraged students regarding writing of proposals for funding support and incubation of
ideas in the field of biotechnology which has potential to impact socio-economic factors. IKP will
assist student entrepreneurs financially as well as technically for startup.

Visit Karnala Sanctuary
The visit to Karnala bird
sanctuary was done by the PSM dept, this included the students of MBBS, Physiotherapy and MGM school
of Biomedical Sciences. The total number of students that attended this event was around 306
including the coordinators of MBBS, Physiotherapy and School of Biomedical Sciences. The
students could see many different types of birds that were there, some of them are Peacock, peahen,
parrots, Rabbit etc. It was a fun trip for the student and they enjoyed it a lot.

Zebrafish Facility Management and Research Methodologies Conducted by Department of Biological Sciences, TIFR, Mumbai 16th Jan 2023
Five days training on
handling of zebrafish and breeding embryo collection, anesthesia, euthanasia, with other
technique of embryo microinjection and embryo microscopy for micromanipulation by biomolecules
as morpholinos, RNA, DNA, zebrafish In-vitro fertilization and cryopreservation of sperm for
revival of zebrafish lines

Nutrition Society of India held at the National Institute of Nutrition, ICMR.

Cultural program on 23rd and 24th of March 2023
